Why use article marketing for profits?

Many people ask, “Why use article marketing for profits?” This is not an easy question to answer because it is a very complex issue. The concept of marketing, means using a particular medium as a means of connecting people with what they are searching for. Since the vast majority of your potential visitors come from the search engines and not directly through the article directories, what exactly is the point of using them?

Well many people so use the directories directly; some countries use them more often then others. It is another medium to help improve one’s profits. When the internet began, it was at first hard explaining to business owners that by having a website they will increase profits. The concept is very simple and that is expanding the business’s reach to more clientele then they could reach from their basic brick and mortar store.

The same can be applied to article marketing. Granted search engines count for the largest portion of your visitors, but if you could increase your profits by a mere 1% through the use of article marketing, then it is still worth it if the cost of the marketing does not exceed the profits earned.

Just like the traditional brick and mortar businesses that were hard to convince that a website was necessary to increase profits, many webmasters cannot even begin to fathom the importance of article marketing. Yet these are the same people who will tell you time and time again to use more then one ad network and to never place everything in one basket.

Does article marketing work? Yes, of course it does. Does it come close to competing with the search engines? No, as of currently there is not a chance of this happening. So why even think about article marketing? Because if it can convert 1 more sale a month and make you an additional hundred dollars of income, then is it not worth doing? Besides, using article marketing, every article you add to reputed article directory gives you one more back link which in turn pushes your website up the search engine results.

In the end, it comes down to giving yourself another medium for marketing. Think of the search engines as a commercial television and article directories as a classified ad in the back of a newspaper. Sure it may seem minute in comparison to the sales generated through the TV commercial, but it does none the less generate sales and therefore is worth doing as long as those sales cover the investment in creating the articles.
